Supply Chain Manager

Job Description Overview:
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for providing strategic planning to achieve key business objectives in our logistics operations. They will act as a subject matter expert in support of operational best practices including supply chain, outsourcing, operational optimization, and tools/technologies. They will collect, analyze, interpret data, and implement initiatives to optimize logistic efficiency and cost reduction. They will monitor company’s incoming finish goods for compliance risk and enhance the company’s supply chain strategy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Launch and maintain brokerage and 3PL programs for leading logistics sectors
- Serve as a subject matter expert and resource for business/opportunity analysis
- Benchmark competitive brokerage and 3PL RFP/RFQ’s
- Support vendor selection and overall vendor operations strategy
- Review and assist statement of work creation and contract negotiation with vendor partners
- Co-work with cross functional teams to identify and optimize process and reduce cost
- Lead project implementation to drive process improvement initiatives
- Collect, analyze, and interpret logistics data to improve logistics process
- Implement trade compliance programs to identify risks, and preventing and mitigating damages related to the customs laws
- Identifies optimal pick and pack strategy to ensure highest output with minimal manual effort
- Identify manual ticketing processes and automate for efficiency
- Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain
Required Qualification:
Years of Education
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Science, Education or related field
Work Experience
- 7+ years of experience in logistics environment and/or project management
- Proven track record for leading and driving process improvement
- Experience working with 3PL companies
Knowledge and Skills
- Expert in the delivery and evaluation of logistics supply chain and trade compliance
- Proactive and have the ability to work well independently as well as in a team environment
- Work well with cross functional teams
- Strong ownership and organization skills
- Proven skills with MS Visio and MS Excel in order to successfully execute projects
- Working knowledge and understanding of supply chain, global logistics, and trade compliance
- Ability to work confidently in a rapidly changing, fast-paced and results-oriented corporate environment where a high degree of flexibility is required
- Ability to exercise considerable judgment and discretion in establishing and maintaining strong partnering relationships with internal and external customers
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Preferred Qualifications:
- Background in logistics and supply chain management
- Ability to plan and prioritize work
- Must be highly organized and able to manage multiple responsibilities
- Model leadership behaviors supporting, integrity, valuing diversity, innovation, building relationships, customer focus and teamwork
- Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications.
- Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment
- Requires sitting, operating a computer keyboard, telephone and other office equipment for extended periods of time
- Long periods of travel – more than 2 weeks at a time (less than 5% of the time)
$90,000 - $115,000 annually is the estimated pay range for this role working in Fremont, California office. The final amount will be determined based on qualifications & experience of the candidate relative to the role.
